Privacy policy

In short: this website sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, uses no analytics or tracking services and loads nothing from third parties. Fonts, images, videos and scripts come from our own server. There is no contact form and there are no user accounts. Personal data is processed only when the pages are delivered and when you write us an email.

2. Hosting

The website runs on our own virtual server, rented from OVHcloud (OVH GmbH, Oskar-Jäger-Str. 173/K6, 50825 Köln, Germany). The server is located in a data centre in the United Kingdom. The European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision for the United Kingdom under Art. 45 GDPR. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with OVHcloud.

3. Server logs

When you visit this website, your browser necessarily transmits data to our server. Of this, we store only:

• the IP address in shortened form (IPv4 without the last 8 bits, IPv6 only the first 48 bits),
• date and time of the request,
• the requested address, the request method and the protocol,
• the status code, the amount of data transferred and the response time.

The full IP address is processed only for the duration of the connection and is not stored. Browser identification, referrer and cookies are not logged. The logs are deleted after 7 days at the latest and are not combined with other data.

The purpose is the secure and stable operation of the website, troubleshooting and defence against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in exactly these purposes.

4. No cookies, nothing stored on your device, no third-party content

We set no cookies and store nothing else on your device either (no local storage, no session storage, no browser database). There are no analytics, advertising or social media services and no embedded content from other providers such as videos, maps or fonts. All fonts (Antonio, Alegreya, Cormorant Garamond, Source Sans 3) are served from our own server.

Animations, light effects and the transitions between pages are computed by your browser. So that a game page can continue seamlessly from the home page, a script in your browser only checks whether you came from our own home page (the referring address within this website); nothing is stored or transmitted.

5. Contact by email

If you write us an email, we process your address and your message in order to reply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for enquiries about a contract. We delete the message once it has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply. Our mailbox is also run by OVHcloud, under the same data processing agreement.

6. Disclosure

We do not pass on any data to third parties, except to the hosting provider as our processor or where we are legally obliged to. There is no automated decision-making and no profiling.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). An informal email to games@goodnightpeople.com is sufficient. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

8. Encryption

The website is only available via HTTPS; the connection between your browser and our server is encrypted.
