A dark hallway at night. At the far end, under a single bare light bulb, a thin woman stands in front of a closed door, her long hair hiding her face.

She is still standing at the bottom of the stairs.

The night

Red digits glowing in the dark: 11:59, with the PM dot lit.

November 1983

It is always 11:59 PM.

A man wakes in the cellar of his house on Wexley Lane.

An old valve radio in the dark, its glowing tuning scale the only light in the room.

The radio gives the time.

Then it starts to talk, calmly and politely, about a woman called Mara and about a night very much like this one.

A mantel clock on a dresser showing one minute to twelve, a pill bottle in the foreground, floral wallpaper behind it.

Every lap of the hallway is almost the same. Almost.

A lock turns on its own. Someone knocks.

A narrow 1980s hallway lit by two pendant lamps, floral wallpaper, a dresser with a table lamp and a mantel clock, a valve radio at the far end.

Chapter 1 The house

One hallway, again and again.

A seamless loop through a 1983 house. Every lap looks almost the same, and something is always wrong.

At the bottom of a staircase, under a bare light bulb, a thin woman in a white nightgown stands in front of a closed door, her long wet hair hiding her face.

Look, listen, remember.

Small, fair puzzles you solve by paying attention: tune a radio, notice what has changed, find what was put away. No inventory screen, no markers.

When midnight finally strikes, nothing is over.

The side deck of an old ferry at night in a storm: a lamp above the bulkhead door, a lifebuoy at the railing, a green navigation light, raindrops on the lens.

Chapter 2 HALCYON

An old night ferry in a storm.

Lightning, rain on the glass and a ship that leans further with every lap.

Lightning lights up a bank of storm clouds over a dark sea; the moon above, the ship's railing and green light on the left.

The only way on leads down, into another night.

A long, narrow corridor below deck, lit by hanging storm lanterns, cabin door number 10 on the left.

Sound you can feel.

Rain muffled through the walls, a hull groaning in the swell, thunder rolling over the deck. Best played with headphones.

The weathertight door in the vestibule, its round window glowing, a storm lantern beside it and a passenger list on the wall.

Someone has knocked on this door before.

Chapter 1 is complete. Chapter 2 is in development, more chapters are planned.

The game

A quiet, photoreal first-person horror game about one night, a radio that knows too much and a door you were told to keep shut.

  1. The radio is the narrator.

It always says 11:59. A calm late-night voice that becomes more personal with every lap, until you are no longer sure where it is coming from.

  2. Horror without weapons.

No combat, no chases, no health bar. The pressure comes from silence, sound and things that should not be there.

  3. Photoreal, built in Unity 6 HDRP.

Volumetric fog, rain running down the windows, optional ray-traced reflections, a storm sky that closes in lap by lap.

  4. Accessible from the start.

Subtitles in several sizes, a photosensitivity notice, options to reduce flashing and camera effects, keyboard and mouse or gamepad.
