A tall stone tower with glowing coloured windows on a rocky hill at night, a full moon behind it and a lantern-lit path leading up to its door.

A roguelike in an endless tower

Dungeon Tower

An endless tower. Your items fight. You decide what to wear.

In development · Steam Early Access planned

The idea

Your items do the fighting.

In Dungeon Tower you don't aim and you don't mash buttons. You gear up. Every run starts on floor 1. At the merchant you buy weapons, armour, rings and amulets, and in combat your items act on their own: blades strike, spells ignite, skills chain into each other.

Every victory brings loot. Your decisions come before the fight.

  • 9 slots
  • 6 elements
  • 48 skills
  • ~200 item bases
Gameplay: on floor 25 the player's items fight the Storm Mistress, a lightning boss on the Thunder Spire. The item bar runs along the bottom.
Floor 25, Thunder Spire. Recorded in the game, shown in German.

Chapter I

The tower map

The tower map: two wings with chambers for floors 21 to 25, the boss chambers at the top.
The tower map: two wings with chambers for floors 21 to 25, the boss chambers at the top.

Pick your door. The map shows the next five floors as chambers, each one a fight with a gift: loot, a forge, a rest, an event, a tower treasure. Champions and challengers are optional dangers; there is always a way around them. Every fifth floor ends with a boss.

After a boss the map reveals the next stretch of the tower.

Chapter II

Regions and gatekeepers

Eight regions, each with its own rule from floor 21. A boss waits on every fifth floor. On floors 20, 40, 60 and 80 a gatekeeper bars the way.

The eight regions

  • Bone Vault from floor 1
  • Ash Forge from floor 1
  • Rime Sanctum from floor 1
  • Root Heart from floor 1
  • Thunder Spire from floor 21
  • Blood Moon Court from floor 21

Chapter III

Ghost duels and plunder

In duels you meet the ghosts of other adventurers. They fight with complete builds, their items floating around them in a wreath.

Win, and take one of three.

The other two shatter.

Ghost duel: another adventurer's ghost fights with its own items, floating around it in a wreath.

The plunder moment: the player takes an epic cloak from the defeated ghost, the other two items shatter.

The Crown, the skill tree in the game: 48 branches fan out of one trunk, nine of them glow in their element colours with learned nodes up to their completion.

Chapter IV

The Crown

One great skill tree with 48 branches, one for every skill. Mastery comes from victories: the more often a skill wins, the further its branch grows.
